ARTIST STATEMENT

me.jpg

My artistic practice revolves around exploring the human body, aging, and intimacy. Through painting, printmaking, collage, objects, and artist books, I investigate these themes, often returning to the portrait as a central motif. Each medium offers a unique way to interpret and express an idea, allowing me to shift perspectives and uncover new layers of meaning.

By translating a subject through multiple techniques, I seek to reveal the subtle shifts in perception that occur when form, texture, and process interact. The physicality of printmaking, the immediacy of painting, and the layered construction of collage all contribute to a dialogue between material and meaning. This constant re-examination invites both myself and the viewer to engage with the subject in new and unexpected ways.

At its core, my work is an exploration of transformation—how touch and time shape our perception of the human form and our connection to one another.
