A time of changes
Hello friend!
It's been a while since I sent out a blog post into the world. I'm really not very good at remembering to share my art plans. This year has been very quiet when it comes to shows, nonetheless I have been busy in and out of the studio :-)
Summer shinanigans
Apart från spending a couple of weeks hiking and enjoying the Swedish and Norwegian mountains, I have participated in a symposium/residency in Italy. It was indeed an amazing experience, which gave me the opportunity to push my work further, and make decisions that I'd never make back in the confines of my studio. Stepping out of your comfort zone sometimes involves you stepping outside your studio (You're welcome for this piece of art wisdom :-p)
One of the works that I finished during the symposium is going to be shown in a group exhibition in the Arte PaRDeS gallery in Mirano, Italy. Another one will be on exhibition at Cinto Caomaggiore, the town that we stayed at.
If you don't have any plans för traveling to Italy - as one does ;) - then you can see a couple of my etchings at the Museum of Medical History (Medicinhistoriska museum) in Uppsala. These works were inspired by the history of the institution that occupied almost the entire area of Ulleråker during the 18th and 19th centuries all the way into the 1980:s.

"Hands" with no home
Unfortunately, my planned exhibition in Stockholm had to be cancelled, as the show room filed for bankrupcy. This means that my series "hands" consisting of quite large works has no place to hang at the moment. So I have decided to put them up on my shop instead of waiting for them to be shown in a physical room first. You can visit the shop here, where you can also see mock-ups of the painting in different rooms before you place you order.
Works in progress
Right now I'm in the finishing stages of one more large painting in the Hands series. At the samt time I'm working on a couple of works that will be part of the traveling exhibition Explo3. You can see a protoypes I've been working on in this instagram reel. But more about that in the next blog post.
Until then, I'm wishing you a beutiful and creative autumn (which also happens to be my favorite time of the year).
Gina
